U.S. News & World Report has released its latest ranking of the nation’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) programs.
The ranking, released Sept. 22, is part of the media company’s 2027 Best Colleges rankings, the 42nd edition of the annual rankings, which evaluates approximately 1,700 institutions.
Rankings based on academic assessments
The BSN rankings are based on average scores from surveys of senior academics and nursing school and department leaders. Respondents dere asked to rate the overall academic quality of undergraduate BSN programs they were familiar with on a scale of 1 to 5.
To be considered for the assessment and ranking, schools must hold nursing accreditation from the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). Regionally accredited institutions must also have awarded at least 50 BSN degrees recently.
