Climate change is not only a health crisis, but also a crisis of health inequity. Heat, floods, cyclones, air pollution, food insecurity, and population displacement are already reshaping patterns of mortality and morbidity,1 disproportionately harming people and places that have contributed least to climate change.2 These inequities are rooted in colonial histories of extraction, dispossession, and unequal development, which continue to determine whose lives and environments are rendered expendable.
